Obituary for Mark Emmett Zimmer

Mark Emmett  Zimmer
Mark Emmett Zimmer, age 79, went to be with the Lord January 16, 2018 in Springfield, MO, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mark was born May 24, 1938 in South Bend, Indiana to Harold and Velma Zimmer. He graduated from Riley High School in Indiana and attended Baptist Bible College, where he met Laurene, followed by Southwest Missouri State, then a Master’s Degree in Business at Babson College. Mark was with Shelter Insurance for 33 years serving as Vice President of Marketing for a number of years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Springfield, Mo. and served with the Gideons. Mark, and wife Laurene, donated land to help establish Coyote Hill Christian Children's Home, which was very close to his heart. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a grandson.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Laurene, for almost 60 years. He is greatly loved by his surviving children Mike Zimmer, Michelle Holder and Sherie' Northup (husband Jon) and by his grandchildren, Joseph Holder (wife Anna),
Corrie Balson (husband Jimmy),Brennan Northup (wife Shauna), Nick Zimmer, Bethany Holder, Joel Northup, Danielle Zimmer, and Caleb Northup, and one great granddaughter, Trinity Northup.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Sunday January 21, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East 3540 E. Seminole Springfield, MO. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday prior to the service.
