Obituary for Violet Christine Crain

Violet Christine Crain, 83, of Springfield, MO passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Violet was born on November 15, 1934 in Sheffield, AL. Violet was the wife of a 20-year veteran MSgt. She was married to Jack Vernon Crain on June 7, 1952 in Wichita Falls, TX. Violet worked at Vision Clinic as an Optical Technician, Sears, and at the Airport Gift shop. She was a member of Elwood United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Past Matrons, Red Hats. Violet enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.
Violet was preceded in death by her father, Homer Lee Moore and mother Ola Richardson Moore, husband, Jack, sisters Becky, Jean Adams, Frances Bolen. She is survived by her son, Jack V Crain Jr., and wife Barb, daughter, Teresa A Stockstill, grandchildren, Brandon, Matt, Stephanie and Josh. Great-grandchildren Garrett Livingston, Addelyn Claire, Aubrey Livingston, and Scarlett Mae Livingston, a brother, Homer Moore Jr. and wife Betty of Phoenix, AZ and a host of many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm with a small service with the Eastern Star at Greenlawn Funeral Home South with services on Saturday at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Dadeville Masonic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Care Animal Rescue on W Sunshine or the American Cancer Society.
