Obituary for Michael Ray Anderson
Michael Ray “Wee-Willy” Anderson, 65, of Willard, Mo. passed away in his home on Monday, January 15, 2018. He was born in Springfield, MO. on May 27, 1952 to Venton Ray and Betty Louise (Ammerman) Anderson. He was united in marriage to Linda Lee Barnes on July 10, 1970. They were blessed with 47 years of marriage and to this union, two daughters were born.
Mike retired from Associated Wholesale Grocers in 2010 after 30 years of driving and was the caretaker for Clear Creek Cemetery near Willard, MO. in recent years. Mike loved his hobbies over the years which included fast cars, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and even coaching youth sports teams when his daughters were younger. He was a member of the Glidewell Gliders Car Club and enjoyed times spent with friends showing his 1960 Morris Minor the “Lil’ Gasser.” He cherished numerous trips to the mountains and the beach with family and friends. He loved being outdoors and passed on that love to his grandsons as well. His grandkids truly were the apple of his eye and he enjoyed spending time with them every opportunity he got.
Mike was truly a devoted family man and has always been known for his hard work ethic. The only thing bigger than his smile was his heart. His ornery personality was well known to all those who were privileged to call him friend. Words cannot describe how greatly he will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; two daughters: Tiffany Herman and Wendy Dunlap (and husband Alan); five grandchildren: Kolton (and wife Missy), Dalton (and wife Melania), Alayna, Kyah and Jaelyn. He is also survived by two brothers: Steve Anderson (and wife Brenda) and Mark Anderson (and wife Cindy).
Memorial Services will be at 10 am Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Springfield Pregnancy Care Center, 1342 East Primrose, Springfield, Missouri 65804.
