Mrs. Donna Lee Baker, 70, of Bolivar died Saturday morning, Jan. 13, 2018, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar.
Donna Lee Rotramel, the oldest of five children, was born Sept. 13, 1947, in Springfield, the daughter of Donald Huston Rotramel and Dorotha Lee Guinn Rotramel.
A lifelong resident of Bolivar, she was a 1966 graduate of Bolivar High School end enjoyed attending her class reunions and visiting with her friends.
She married Bobby Dale Baker on Sept. 14, 1968, in Bolivar. They were privileged to share 49 years together, and loved each other to the very end.
They lived in Bolivar where they raised their three children, Donna Annette, Robert Elwood and Betty Lee Baker. They enjoyed fishing and going camping every summer with their kids and Donna's siblings.
Donna was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Bolivar, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She attended New Life Church, Bolivar, for the last several years. She was always finding ways to share her love of Jesus Christ with others.
Donna worked many jobs during her life, including her work at Gold Rush restaurant, being a housekeeper for many years at Southwest Baptist University and her time at Parkview Healthcare Facility. She touched many people's lives through her love of God and desire to always put a smile on their face.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and hosting large family gatherings. She loved to laugh, was always willing to help anyone and would always spend her own money to make crafts for so many people, including residents of Parkview Healthcare Facility, even before she became a resident there.
She was such a loving and giving person who was the epitome of loving with unconditional love.
Preceding her in death were her mom, Dorotha Rotramel; her dad, Donald Rotramel; one daughter, D. Annette Baker, on Sept. 20, 1996; one half-brother, George Rotramel; and a half-sister, Carol Castillo.
Survivors include her loving husband, Bob Baker; her son, Robert and wife Becky of Bolivar; her daughter, Betty Johnson and husband Jeremy of Nixa; six grandchildren, Allison Rochelle Baker, Isabella "Bella" Grace Johnson, Jaylena Faith Baker, Jade Skye Johnson, Jordyn-Marie Baker and James Knox Baker; three brothers, David Rotramel and wife Vera of Pittsburg, Dee Rotramel and wife Chris of Carthage and Dale Rotramel and wife Susan of Bolivar; one sister, Dora Horsman and husband Ted of Osceola; two half-brothers, Stephen and Ronnie Rotramel, both of Wichita, Kan.; three half-sisters, Paula Sayers, Thelma Huffman and spouse Mel and Verna Edgar and spouse Mike, all of Wichita, Kan.; two aunts, Georgene Goranson and Lorene Neil, both of Bolivar; an uncle, Bill Rotramel of Bolivar; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. She was also privileged to "play" grandma to many other children, including those in her Sunday school classes, children whom she babysat through the years and her son's foster children.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Pitts Chapel, Bolivar, with Pastor Bill L. Jones officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Davy Rotramel, Jim Baker, Jared Shrauger, Blaise Horsman, Jessie Horsman and A.J. Bayer. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Baker and Eric Rotramel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Life Church, Bolivar, and left at the funeral home or mailed to PO Box 405, Bolivar MO 65613.
