Obituary for William George "Bill" Fugate

William “Bill” George Fugate, 79 Years old, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away on January 12th, 2018, left this life to be with his beloved wife of 57 years and the Lord after a short illness.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday January 19th, 2018 at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, Mo. Brother Gary Urich and Brother Gary Walton of Heritage Baptist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Thursday January 18th, 2018 at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, Mo. Burial will follow the funeral at Mt Olive cemetery on E. 420th Rd Bolivar, Mo. Pitts Chapel is handling funeral arrangements.
Bill was born in Doniphan, Mo on August 18th, 1938. He graduated from Doniphan High and continued some college at Southwest Baptist College during this time he met the love of his life.
Bill was married to Verna Berniece “Bouling” Fugate on November 15th, 1959; they were married for 57 years before she went to be with the Lord in December 2016.
Bill joined the United Stated Air Force in 1961 for 20 years. During that time, he received the following medals, Air Force Commendation, small arms expert marksmanship, longevity service, national defense service, Vietnam service, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry cross with palm and Republic of Vietnam campaign. He enjoyed fishing, reading the newspapers and cooking.
Bill is survived by his sister Dollie Ainley of Doniphan, Mo, sons Brien and wife Maria of Poplar Bluff, Mo, Bruce and wife Cathy Fugate of Bolivar, Mo., 9 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren. Mother in law Elaine “Nana” Bouling and many nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws, and other family and friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife Berniece, father George Loyd and mother Francis Mae Goss Fugate, Brother Lloyd Joe Fugate.
