Obituary for John WIlliam Price
John was born November 2, 1936, in Webster County to John and Delphia Young Price. He passed away at home on January 12, 2018. In the summer of 1949, he was saved at St. Luke Methodist Church and baptized in the Niangua River. He was a Truman Democrat and Methodist throughout his life, and enjoyed the fellowship of Hillside Baptist Church for the last 11 years. John was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 60 years, and was a Master Mason in Doric Lodge 300.
He was a man of many talents, keeping the wheels turning and everything running. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed primarily in Germany, and was a long-time Zenith employee. On March 18, 1966, he married Carole Cantrell at Good Hope Baptist Church. They were blessed with a daughter, Lisa, in 1972, and later in 1995 with their son-in-law, Kevin Suttee. John was even more proud of his granddaughter, Emma Rose, who was born in 1999.
John is survived by his wife, daughter, devoted son-in-law, much loved granddaughter, a special niece, Sheila Hill, as well as many other close relatives and friends who will miss him.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield and burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude
