Obituary for Edward Eugene Goin Jr.

Edward Eugene Goin Jr.
Edward Eugene Goin Jr. went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2017 in Springfield, Missouri at sixty-six years old. Though we mourn the loss of a great man, we rest assured that Ed will forever live in our hearts.
Ed is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Goin. Ed is survived by his father, Edward Goin Sr.; his wife, Cathy Goin; three sons, Edward (Gene) Goin, Bill Goin, and Travis Goin and his wife Alisha; seven grandchildren, Chris, Matt, Ryan, Edward, Emalee, Dakota, and Gemma; twelve siblings, Linda Henry, Jackie Plemmons, John Goin, Darrell Goin, Vicky Quinn, Denise Kelly, Steve Goin, Cavin Goin, Aaron Goin, Lisa McDowell, Kari Haywood, and Greg Goin; as well as countless other family, friends, and loved ones.
Ed was born in Springfield in 1951. Ed would fall in love with the girl next door, Cathy, and the two would share forty-nine wonderful years together. They would welcome three sons that he so dearly loved. Family and friends will assure you Ed was one of the hardest working men you’d ever meet. Ed enjoyed his work at LKQ and loved working alongside his friends. Throughout the years, Ed would become a grandfather and enjoy many hours of quality time with his grandchildren. Ed and Cathy have been long-time members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. In his free time Ed enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and cheering on his two favorite teams, the Chiefs and Cardinals.
Visitation will be held at Greenlawn North on Monday, January 1st at 6:00 pm, and his funeral will take place on Tuesday, January 2nd at 10:00 am.
