Obituary for Wanda Joan (Granny) Murphy (Letterman)

Wanda Joan (Granny) Murphy (Letterman)
Wanda Joan Murphy, age 76, born April 7, 1941 went to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on December 21st, 2017. She had been lovingly cared for at home by her family during a year- long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Kenton Murphy, her parents, a sister, and two brothers.
Granny will be greatly missed by her daughters, Kenna Manley, husband Steve and Angela Brown, husband David. She was known for her love and devotion to her family which included Jeremy, Cole, Kenzlye, Jaryd, Maleah and Kendon, along with their spouses and children. This past year each one spent countless hours trying to return a small portion of the love Granny had shown them their entire lives. Many people called her Granny because of the time and love she invested in them. “Aunt Jo”, had a special nephew, Terry, she loved to spend time with as well as many other nieces and nephews.
She loved her church family at Springhill Baptist Church where she was a member and had a relationship with Christ. They meant so much to her during this past year, sending cards, prayers and love. Granny felt very blessed to have so many people loving on her.
Honoring our mother’s wishes there will only be a private family service to inter her ashes at Greenlawn North Cemetery.

We will miss you Mom and your quirky sense of humor, but we rest easy knowing you will be there waiting for us when we make that journey home.
