Obituary for Jimmy Darrell Vaughan
Jimmy Darrell Vaughan, age 79, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, December 20th, 2017 at Manor Care .
Jimmy was born January 31, 1938 in Springfield, MO to Lester and Laura Vaughan. He attended Central High School and Missouri State University. Jimmy served in the United States Airforce. He was united in marriage to Mary Francis Mingus on September 2, 1961 in Harrison, AR. Jimmy worked for Custom Trailers, where he retired after 37 years. Jimmy enjoyed fishing playing golf, and camping. He loved spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for greeting everyone with a smile and a hug.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Vaughan; three sons, Rick Darrell Vaughan, Springfield, Ronnie Eugene Vaughan and Ashley Taylor, Aldrich, MO, and Mark Shane Vaughan, Springfield; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan and Lindsey Vaughan, Jason and Chloe Vaughan, Jessica and Isiah Coon, Garret Vaughan, and McKenzie Knapp; 6 great-grandchildren, Levi, Hazel, Peyton, and Emily Vaughan, and Charlie and Frankie Coon; one brother, Layton Vaughan, Springfield; one sister, Vicky Soaps, Springfield; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Laura Vaughan, and one step-sister, Laura Lee Lessar.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Tuesday December 26, 2017 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 27th, 2017 at 10:00 am in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in Jimmy's name to the Salvation Army.
