Dorothy Jean (Furnas) Griffin (9-18-1931 to 12/19/2017)
Born on September 18, 1931, in Faun Creek, Kansas, to Uel P. Furnas and Ruby Florence (Mikel) Furnas. She had one older brother, Uel Furnas of Visalia, CA, and one stillborn sister. Dorothy married her one true love, Robert “Jack” Jackson Griffin on June 26, 1949. They were married 68 years. They had four daughters: Florence Ann (Griffin) Sebren of Sommerville, TN, Roberta Jean (Griffin) Drake of Needmore, MO, Carol Mayona (Griffin) Larssen of Fair Play, MO, and Claudia Jane (Griffin) Gaylord of Fair Play, MO. Dorothy’s family included son- in-laws: Don Sebren of Somerville, TN, Ronnie Drake of Needmore, MO, and Ron Gaylord of Fair Play, MO. There were ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
The family will celebrate her life with a party immediately after her graveside service. She will be interred at Shady Grove Cemetery in Polk County, MO, on Thursday, December 21, 2017. She loved greatly and will be greatly missed.
