Mary Pauline (Walsh ) Thomas, age 89, of Fair Grove passed away Friday, December 1st, 2017.

Pauline was born June 9, 1928 in Omaha, Nebraska, to James B. and Clarissa C. Walsh. Pauline graduated from Springfield Catholic High School and attended Southwest Missouri State University. She was united in marriage to Ray Hughes Thomas on May 17, 1948 in St Agnes Catholic Church, Springfield, Missouri. Pauline and Ray operated a dairy, beef, and hay farm in Fair Grove for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Springfield, Missouri, a USDA Earth Team Volunteer, a life time member of the Daughters of Isabella, and a volunteer with Catholic Campus Ministries. Pauline loved baking cheesecakes and cookies for others, reading, and picking out walnuts. She enjoyed traveling across the United States and visiting Europe, Central America, and the Caribbean. Pauline especially appreciated seeing Rome and the Vatican. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and she was always there for them.
Survivors include her three daughters, Elaine June Thomas, Janice Rae Thomas, and Rita Marie (Thomas) Mueller (Kevin Williams); one grandson, Nicholas Hughes Mueller; one brother, Larry Walsh (Mary); one sister, Darlene (Walsh) Butler; one sister-in-law, May Walsh; and nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Hughes Thomas, one son, Ralph Hughes Thomas; parents James B. and Clarissa C. (Walz) Walsh; two brothers, Ben Walsh (Sue), and Keith Walsh; three sisters, Lorraine (Walsh) Birenbaum (Johnny) , Jeanne (Walsh) Harden, and Virginia (Walsh) Peebles; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Butler, Joseph Thomas (Irene), Fred Thomas, (Dazel), and Carl Thomas (Mary).
Pauline donated her body to Saint Louis University Medical School, to try and help others.
A mass will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church,1609 N. Summit Ave, Springfield, MO. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 2-3 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, 3506 N. National, Springfield, MO, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 pm.
