Obituary for Owen Haggard Baker

Owen Haggard  Baker
Owen Baker passed away Nov. 30, 2017. He was one month away from his 96th birthday. He was born in Springfield, MO to Hugh and Maude Baker. He is survived by one brother, Alan Baker and his wife Myrna. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Edna Freeman Baker, 2 brothers; Hugh and Gordon, and 1 sister; Ruth.
Owen served in the Navy for 3 years during World War II. He spent many years in Alaska where he worked as a plumber. He loved talking about his time in Alaska and his many friends there.
He attended Central Assembly of God Church for 86 years. They have his original membership card dated 1931. He attended Central Bible Institute.
Owen loved Jesus with all his heart and daily waited for the Rapture of the church by Jesus. He also enjoyed being with children and often had special gifts for them. He will be deeply missed by all his friends. His memorial service is Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, 10:00am, with visitation from 9:00-10:00am, in the chapel at Maranatha.
