Obituary for Verrell Preston Curbow
Verrell Curbow, age 92, of Springfield passed away Friday, November 10th, 2017 in his home .
Verrell was born March 1, 1925 in Stone County, MO to David and Reitha Curbow. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Logan on June 16, 1950 in Billings, MO. Verrell retired as a baker. He enjoyed traveling. The greatest love of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Hamlin Baptist Church.
Survivors include his three children, Cheryl Teal and husband Mike, Springfield, Stephen Curbow and wife Tina Elgin, Westerville, OH, and Ashlee Curbow, Springfield; five grandchildren, Michele Shroyer of Hollister, Gregory Curbow, Warner Robbins, GA, Michael Teal, Springfield, Charles Curbow, Leesburg, GA, and Stephen Curbow, Macclenny, FL; nine great-grandchildren, Ciara, Caryn, Chrisjon, Chase, Shailee, Ross, Ella, John (J.J.) Jr., and Elijah; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Lou Curbow, his parents, David and Reitha Curbow, four brothers, and three sisters.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm, Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 15th, 2017 at 3:00 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield , Missouri . Memorial contributions may be made in Verrell's name to the American Cancer Society. Funeral services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
