Obituary for Maxine Marie Knapp (Sloan)
Maxine Marie (Sloan ) Knapp, age 87, of Springfield passed away Sunday, November 5th, 2017 .
Maxine was born July 22, 1930 in Springfield, MO to Ocie Everett and Cora Sloan. She was united in marriage on November 8, 1952 in Harrison AR to Walter Eugene (Pete) Knapp. Maxine will always be remembered for her excitement of having family together for the holidays. She had a great sense of humor, and loved to travel, especially traveling on trains. Her two greatest loves were her Lord and Savior, and her family. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all, but we know we will be reunited with her one day.
Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Walter (Pete) Eugene Knapp; six children, Charlotte Knapp, Walter Knapp Jr. and wife Kathy , Sam Knapp, Tim Knapp, David Knapp and wife Patty, and Danny Knapp; seven grandchildren; one brother Everett Sloan; one sister, Betty Sterling; several fur grand-babies; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 9th, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Missouri Veterans Cemetery 5201 South Southwood Springfield, Missouri 65804. Memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Council Of The Blind. Funeral services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
