Dallas  Hicks
Dallas Wayne Hicks 79, of Halltown, MO. passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 in his home, with his long-time companion Hazel Hammock, and his daughter Joanna by his side. He was born August 22, 1938, in Warsaw, MO. to Porter and Carrie (Upton) Hicks. He was raised in the Warsaw area and graduated from Warsaw High School. He was a mobile home salesman and repairman. He also worked at the I-66 Auto Auction, retiring in 2013. Dallas loved Blue Grass Music, playing in his own band, out of state and in the Springfield area. He also had a music show once a month for 5 or 6 years.
Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his long-time companion Hazel, two daughters: Joanna Christenberry, of Springfield, MO. and Laurie Fry and her husband Glenn, of the state of Ohio, a son;Bill Hicks and his wife Martha, of Texas, a brother: Don Hicks and his wife Sheryl, of the state of Oregon. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Vanessa and her husband Nick Osciak, of Texas, Shawna and Ben Miller, of Colorado, Lauren Macmoyle and her husband Benjamin, state of Virginia, Danelle and Jacob Digges, state of Ohio, Bill Hicks Jr. of the state of Texas, Matthew, Madison, Katie, Yesenia,, Eddie, Junior, Christopher, and six great-grandchildren, and one on he way.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow, in Mount Gillead Cemetery, Polk county, Mo. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
