Obituary for Rosalee Kingen

Rosalee Kingen
Rosalee Ford Kingen went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Keeneland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Weatherford, Texas. She was born May 23, 1924 in Nebo, Illinois, the daughter of Lewis A. Ford and Leona E. (Kinkade) Ford. On February 14, 1946, she was united in marriage to Waldo R. Kingen. To this union were born two children, Michael G. Kingen and Lee Ann (Kingen) Delso. After completion of her secondary education, Rosalee furthered her education by attending Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois. During World War II she served her country at Emerson Electric, St. Louis, Missouri. Rosalee was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a member of First Baptist Church of Ozark Missouri. After her health declined she moved to Weatherford where she lived with her daughter and son in law before going to reside at Keeneland.
Rosalee enjoyed raising her children as a stay at home mom, sewing, preparing culinary delights, and serving the Lord Jesus Christ. She spent much time in prayer and reading her Bible, traveling, going to flea markets, and often could be seen stopping at just about every garage sale in town.
Rosalee will be missed, not only by her family, but also by the hundreds of lives she touched in her lifetime. She was a true woman of God who had a pure and caring spirit. She is survived by her son, Michael G. Kingen of Bloomington, Illinois; her daughter Lee Ann and husband Terry Delso of Weatherford, Texas; grandsons Jerry Christopher Perryman and wife Jill and Casey Barrett Perryman and wife Rachael all of Rogersville, Missouri; five great-grandchildren: Macy, Isaac, Claire and Jesse and soon to be born Abigail Perryman also of Rogersville; as well as two loving sisters-in-law Jo Ann Case and Glenda Goelz of St. Louis; numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. She is preceded in death by her husband Waldo R. Kingen, father Lewis A. Ford, mother Leona A. Ford and brother Avery L. Ford.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation to a charity of your choice in her honor.
Services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 W. Battlefield, Springfield, Missouri at 11:30 AM on Monday November 6, 2017. Interment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri at 1 PM.
