Obituary for Bonnie Jean Renfrow (Walker)

Bonnie Jean Renfrow (Walker)
Bonnie passed away early Sunday morning, October 29, 2017 with her daughter by her side.

Bonnie was born in Catchings, Mississippi on June 8, 1921 to Tom and Mary Lucy Walker. She accepted Christ at the young age of 13. She met the man she would marry when she was 16 years old, and a year and a half later, in 1939, she and Clifton Marvin Renfrow married. They made their home in Canton, Mississippi where their daughter, Helen, was born. They were married for 66 years when Clifton passed away in 2006.

She loved her church and loved to cook and have a house full of folks during Revival. She was happiest when she was busy in the kitchen making casseroles and cakes! She also enjoyed her job at the Canton Exchange Bank, which was bought by Trustmark Bank. She worked there for 26 years and retired in 1987.

She was a member of Eastern Star and served the order for over 50 years. In 2009, she was honored with an appointment as Grand Chapter Representative to Virginia. She truly loved the fellowship and travel associated with the position and found great joy in serving.

Bonnie and Clifton remained in Canton until 1998 when they moved to the Ozarks to be near their daughter and her husband, Charlie. They immediately found a new church home at the First Baptist Church of Kimberling City. She loved this church and her Sunday School class and talked often of her teacher, Lefty Evans. She was humbled by the outpouring of love and support from her church family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Renfrow, and her son-in-law, Charles Pittman. She is survived by her daughter, Helen Pittman; three grandchildren, Charles Pittman Jr., Linda Pittman Weiler, and Jay Pittman; and 6 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Herman Walker, Pettie Walker, Algie Walker, Morris Walker and Jack Walker, an one sister Evie Walker Ware.
