Obituary for Anna Faith Cox

Anna Cox died peacefully on October 21, 2017 at the age of 75. She was born Anna Faith Maurejohn in Greenwood, Mississippi to Edna Lessley and Nicholas Konstantine Maurejohn. She lived in Springfield, MO the past 46 years and is survived by two sons and four grandchildren.

Anna overcame enormous adversity in her life after being partially paralyzed in an auto accident at the age of 31. She demonstrated incredible perseverance over the years as she remained active despite her gradually deteriorating health. During that time she raised two sons, became a published author, earned her Master’s degree in Education, traveled abroad, cared for her mother, and continued to teach and tutor elementary students for over 40 years.

Anna drew strength from her faith in God and purpose from her relationship with the Church of Latter Day Saints. She took great joy in applying her passion for education to teaching the gospel in Sunday school.

More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

The family wishes to express their many thanks and gratitude to the following people for all their support for Anna over the years:
• Phyllis Feyh for her unwavering friendship.
• The McGee family and the members of the Church of Latter Day Saints for all they did to support her and enable her to continue find purpose in God’s work.
• The staff at Woodland Manor for their compassion and devotion to her care in the final, difficult years
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 6-8:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens at the Wall of Roses.
