Obituary for Jack Leroy Harris

Jack Leroy  Harris
Jack L. Harris, 81, Springfield, MO, departed this life on Sunday, October 15, at 5:00 AM in The Arbors of Ravenwood doing what he loved – eating. Survivors include his beloved wife, Patricia Harris, two sons, Greg and wife Cindy, Tim and wife Tonia; and step-daughter, Lauri Hudnall, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sister Doris Brandon, and brothers Ernie and David Harris and numerous family members and many wonderful friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orloff and Sarah Harris, brother Clyde, sister Eva Mae Harris and his first true love and wife of 48 years, Marie Harris.
Jack received his B.S. from Missouri Valley College in Marshall and his Masters from University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, he taught Math and Physics in Kansas City. He retired from Lucent/AT&T as a Computer Specialist Consultant where he traveled the world as a trouble shooter. When not working he loved camping and traveling with his family. After retirement to Branson West, he liked fishing and boating on Table Rock Lake, collecting and playing DJ music and teaching ballroom dancing with his wife Patricia for the past 11 years on cruise ships and studios in Kimberling City, Branson and Springfield.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Monday, October 23, 2017 with A Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm, on Monday, October 23, 2017 in Greenlawn Funeral Home South 441 W. Battlefield with Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Memorial Gardens (1.8 miles south of Kimberling City bridge to Pine Crest sign on the left). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charities or online through Greenlawn Funeral Home for Dementia or Alzheimer’s programs.
