Eleanor Mae Darnaby, 97, passed away October 11 th in Springfield, Missouri. Eleanor was born July 28th, 1920 to Joe and Rosalia (nee Hotz) Kucera in Gregory County, South Dakota. After graduating from high school she moved to Lead, SD where she met and married Bryant Darnaby on January 28th, 1943. They lived in Lead for five years following Bryant's discharge from the army, they then moved to Springfield, MO.
They were the parents of five children. Bryant and wife Linda, Cheryl Newsome (deceased), Jim (deceased), Greg and wife Pam and Wendy and husband Tony. They had 10 grandchilden and 13 great-grandchildren.
Eleanor is survived by three of her children and brother Jim Kucera of Winner South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband Bryant, her parents, brothers George and Joe, sisters Bette Fortuna and Vi Durant, sister in law Darnyta Kucera and a special nephew Ted Fortuna.
Eleanor was an amazing matriarch. Her strength and dedication to her family and friends was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed.
