Donald Raymond Thompson 79, Brighton, MO. passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in his home after a long illness. He was born on April 1, 1938, in Independence, MO.Donald was a gentleman with many talents, he had worked for Dayco, Friendly Ford, and had been involved with road construction, in his life. Don was constantly working or planning projects, and did whatever it took to provide for his family. Don's favorite projects centered around his field trial dogs. He was a member of the Pleasant Hope, MO. Masonic Lodge.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil R. Tipton and Doris B. Sutton, and his step-father, Tommy Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Williams) Thompson, two daughters: Donnie Davis and Sandra Thompson Neu, three sons: Raymond Lee Thompson, Thomas Alexander (Robin) and Jeffrey Thompson, four grandchildren: Dakota Ray Thompson, Nicholson Neu, Tristan Davis, and Mallory Hart two brothers: Douglas and Roger Thompson, two sisters: Lynda Lowery and Mary Ann Tipton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow, in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
