Obituary for Winford Nelson Logan

Winford (Nelson) Logan, 77, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in Springfield, MO after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marty (Gipson) Logan; his daughter, Rehna Logan, and husband, Ken Davis (Battlefield, MO); his daughter, Patricia Lukefahr, and husband, Jeff (Perryville, MO); his daughter, Michele Day, and husband, Aaron (Marshfield, MO); his granddaughter, Amanda Robinette, and husband, Nevan (Springfield, MO); his grandchildren, Avery Day, Rebekah Davis, Alex Day, and Rachel Davis; and his sisters, Delores Meadows (Harrison, AR) and Patricia Walters, and husband, Jim (Dallas, TX). He was proceeded in death by his parents, Truman and Mildred (Wood) Logan. Mr. Logan was born in Harrison, AR and lived in Bergman, AR until graduation from Bergman High School in 1957. Upon graduation, Mr. Logan enlisted in the United States Army and was then married to Marty on November 11, 1958. He graduated from Jump School soon after and was stationed in Germany as a part of the 82nd and 101st Airborne. After discharge from the service, Mr. Logan worked as a painter and over-the-road truck driver until retirement in the late ‘90s. Visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home South on West Battlefield at 8:30am and services will begin at 9:30am on October 12, 2017. Internment will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO at 11am. Pastor Freddy Brinkley will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
