Condolence From: David A. Denyer
Condolence: Dear Mary Ann,

As you may remember, LaMoine was one of my best friends during our years in Louisville. We had classes together, enjoyed being in courses taught by Joseph Callaway, and went to Ai to work on the excavation Callaway oversaw.

Only today did I see the information about LaMoine's career and death. Dorothy, my wife, and I send our love to you. With fond memories of my friend from the past. Dave Denyer

Condolence: DeVries Family -

What a great honor it was for me to know and spend time with LaMoine. Calm, consistent, and never rattled, he was a great listener and an excellent mentor to not only me but countless other individuals. He exerted strong leadership and developed leaders while being completely content with remaining in the background and letting others be in front of things. His patient and calm demeanor solved problems and set an example for others to follow. For several years I've shared the following item with a number of my athletes, students, and employees (it was actually given to me when I was in high school), and Jeff and Mike - your dad is one of the few individuals I've encountered who I believe, in my experience, lived with these words in his mind...

There are little eyes upon you, and they’re watching night and day;

There are little ears that quickly take in every word you say;

There are little hands all eager to do anything you do;

And a little boy who’s dreaming of the day he’ll be like you.

You’re the little fellow’s idol;
You’re the wisest of the wise,
In his little mind about you
No suspicions ever rise.

He believes in you devoutly,
Holds that all you say and do,
He will say and do, in your way
When he’s grown-up like you.

There’s a wide-eyed little fellow, who believes you’re always right,
And his ears are always open, and he watches day and night;
You are setting an example, every day in all you do,
For the little boy who’s waiting to grow up to be like you.

Lots of great memories. I'm sorry for your loss, but even more incredibly grateful that I was placed in a position to be influenced by LaMoine. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers during this time!

Kevin Keltner
