Glenn Warren Kauffmann, 88, of Willard, MO passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Glenn was born in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, and was formerly of the Fairfield, Pennsylvania area, moving to Willard in 2003. He graduated from Chambersburg High School and Gettysburg College.
Glenn was proud to serve his country in many capacities beginning with the Berlin Air Lift, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and in various locations in the US. He retired a Lieutenant Colonel in 1989 while at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA. He taught numerous management courses in universities and workshop settings as well as a junior/senior high school Sunday school class. He was an active member of the Willard-Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Willard, MO.
Glenn was united in marriage to Sarah “Sally” Holland on April 5, 1953. Together they were privileged to share over 55 years before Sally’s death December 3, 2008. To this union, five children were born.
In addition to his wife, Sarah, Glenn was preceded in death by a son, Daniel M. in May of 1983; his parents, H. Millard and E. Pearl Kauffmann; sister, Betty Tolbert; and brother, Douglas Kauffmann.
He is survived by one son, Curtis and wife, Claire Kauffmann of Willard, MO; Three daughters, Bridget and husband Jeffery Carver of Ocean City, MD; Lisa and husband Dennis Hawbaker of Gettysburg, PA; and Rebecca and husband Anthony Smith of Hanover, PA; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, special friend Linda Cameron, and many other friends.
Memorial service will be held Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Willard-Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Willard, MO, with the Reverend John Becker officiating, under the care and direction of Greenlawn North Funeral Home, Springfield, MO. Inurnment will be at a later time in Evergreen Cemetery, Veteran Section, in Gettysburg, PA.
