Obituary for Virgil Lee Day

Virgil Lee  Day
Virgil was born October 22, 1934 in Bolivar, MO. At the age of four, Virgil's family moved to Morrisville, MO. He graduated Morrisville High School in 1952. He attended Missouri State University for two years and then was drafted in the U.S. Army. He served two years in the 82nd Airborne in Ft. Bragg, NC. After his service he came back to Missouri State University and finished his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He worked for Jostens's for over 30 years. During his career, he and his wife "Billie" began investing in real estate in 1975. They eventually ended up with 53 different pieces of property throughout Springfield. He always enjoyed golf and was a member of Hickory Hills CC since 1968. He also enjoyed Table Rock Lake and had a houseboat for many years at Indian Point Marina. He celebrated his 48th wedding anniversary this year. He will be remembered for his kindness and integrity with everyone who knew him. Heaven will be enriched by his arrival. but he leaves a great void in the heart of all those who knew and love him. Visitation will be Saturday, September 23, 2017, 12:00-1:00pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral service will begin at 1:00pm. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
