Obituary for Martha Emogene Meadows

Martha Emogene  Meadows
Emogene Meadows, age 94 of Springfield, MO, formerly of Bolivar, MO, passed away August 9, 2017, at The Maples Healthcare Center Springfield, MO. She was born to the late Albert and Allie (Parker) Richards, March 31, 1923, in Rimby, MO. She was united in marriage to Leon Meadows May 10, 1940, and to this union two daughters were born. Emogene and Leon lived in Polk County all their married life.
She was saved in 1939 and joined Goodson Missionary Baptist Church; later moving her membership to Lindley Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Emogene was a devoted Pastor’s wife for 60 years, mother and grandmother. She loved cooking for her family and enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
Emogene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leon; two brothers: Don and Lonnie Richards; three sisters: Jewel and Julia, and an infant Nellie.
She is survived by two daughters: Shirley Parrack and husband Floy of Charity, MO, and Sharon Jones and husband Jim of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren: Jimmy Jones and wife Angela, Tamela Jones and husband Andy, Shara Collins and husband Patrick, Ryan Jones and wife Emily, Kimberly Perry and husband Scott; nine great grandchildren: Luke and Lily Jones, Heston and Chloee Collins, Cooper and Ellie Jones, Derrick Smead, Bailey Massey, and Clinton Perry; two sister in-laws: Carolyn and Zona Meadors; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at Pitts Chapel Saturday, August 12, 2017, with Bro. Mike Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery Bolivar, MO. Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
