Condolence: I didn't know Roland personally.I know some that did and their hearts are broken. It would have been a honor to meet and listen to such a talented man
Take comfort, family and friends, that he is with the Master and is singing and playing praises to the Lord.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Butch's passing. He was such a special and talented person. I went to High School with Butch and I think everyone was in awe of his great athletic abilities and his wonderful personality. He had a smile that lit up the room. I had not seen him in years, but have fond memories of him. I was lucky enough to see him on the court at MU. The first time I knew he was a musician was when I was in college. He stopped by where I was living and my roommate had a guitar. He started playing and singing. My roommate wanted lessons and I was amazed. I had no idea of his musical talent. He will be missed. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Condolence: Although our paths had only crossed briefly on two occasions since high school, I have such fond memories of Butch. Although he was an exceptional athlete, he was always humble and kind. I am saddened by his death. My thoughts are with his family.

Condolence: I first recall meeting Butch at about age 5. He had come to the Crouch home, where I was being baby-sat by Dixie Crouch. I believe his aunt was cleaning for Dixie and he had stopped by to bring her something. I didn't have a lot of interaction with him during early grade school. As always, he was the star athlete. We first became close friends in 5th grade, I think and grew stronger over many years of junior high and high school and college. And the music...I remember being in his basement room when we were juniors or seniors and he pulled out his "axe" and started playing very passable Jimi Hendrix. I was dumbstruck as I had never seen him play the guitar before.

That friendship lasted many years until we had a falling out in the 80s. When Deb pulled us back together again in about 2001 (thank you, again, Debi), neither of us could remember what the tiff was about. We communicated occasionally via email thereafter until he suffered the stroke. We were never allowed the chance to sit and talk again, as we had late into the night so many nights as teenagers. I have to say that will be a regret I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Thank you, Debi, for being there through these difficult years. I am sure you saved his life more than once. My thoughts and love go out to all the family. I flat loved the man.
