Obituary for Charles R. Kincaid

Rev. Charles Roland Kincaid was born August 16, 1928, to Guy and Blanche (Fugate) Kincaid on the family farm near Pittsburg, Missouri. He joined his Heavenly Father on July 27, 2017.

Charles Kincaid attended his first 8 years of public school in a one-room schoolhouse near Antioch Christian Church in Hickory County, MO. He confessed his faith in Jesus Christ as a young teen and was baptized in a creek near the church. Charles graduated from Hermitage High School in 1946 as Valedictorian. He worked in construction with brother-in-law Ernest Jenkins for 2 years. Charles and his cousin, Audie De Hart then joined the Army Air Corps (United States Air Force) serving 4 years. During this time Charles dedicated his life to Christian service.

Charles graduated in 1956 from Phillips University, Enid, OK with a BA degree. In 1959 graduated with a BD from Phillips Seminary. He later returned to seminary and earned a Master’s of Divinity in 1969. He met fellow student Virginia Faye Anderson at a freshman mixer at Phillips and they were married June 11, 1953 in Ponca City, OK. That loving and faithful union lasted 64 years.

During his younger years Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman, making many friends, including special friends and seminary neighbors John and Joyce Boehnke who remain dear friends today. In later years Charles spent much time studying the New Testament in the original Greek language and sharing this with others.

Charles was caring and compassionate, generous and kind, thoughtful and soft spoken. Extending his hand in friendship and his heart in love to those in need or seeking comfort was the very essence of Charles. Authentic humility and respect for others were at his core. Charles’ life was deeply devoted to the service of others, to his Lord Jesus Christ, to his wife and family, and to the many church members and church houses (places of worship) where he served as a devoted steward. Charles was proud to have baptized more than 275, performed 380 marriages, and brought more than 465 members into the Christian Churches he served as minister. His loving and devoted union with his wife Virginia was most precious to him.

Preceding him in passing were his parents, Guy and Blanche Kincaid, his sister and her husband Frances and Ernest Jenkins, in-laws Ross and Pauline Anderson, and special cousins John, Audie and Raymond De Hart.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife Virginia Kincaid, daughters Anne (Alton) Alexander, Neoma Kreuter, sons Robert Kincaid (Rick Hutcheson) and David (Joy) Kincaid. Grandchildren: Anthony (Patricia) Alexander, Angelica Alexander, Andrew (April) Alexander; Elyse, Abigail, Ian, Faith and Ezra Kincaid; and four great grandchildren. Carolyn (Jenkins) and Gary Harrison (niece), and Garland (Cheryl) Jenkins and Mel (wife - Lila) Jenkins, nephew and families.
