Bobby Ray  Herbert
Bobby Ray Herbert, age 74 of Gardner, KS, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home Gardner, KS. He was born April 13, 1943, in Bolivar, MO, to Robert Lee and Lorraine Mae (Hembree) Herbert. Bob was a Journeyman Floor craftsman.
Bob loved music. He was the bassist and lead singer for the group called “The Eccentric’s”, C.C.R. being one of his most loved bands to listen to. He also had a love for camping and fishing, and racing motorcycles and teaching his nephews how to ride. Bob never met a stranger and could talk to anyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob is survived by his two sons: Wade Herbert of Denver, CO, and Bryan Herbert and his wife Sandy of Edgerton, KS; five grandchildren: Brandon Wilson, Jonathan Herbert, Blair Campbell, Brett Herbert, and Jacob Herbert; five great grandchildren; one sister Sherry DeAtley of Bella Vista, AR; two nephews; three aunts: Eunice Ballinger of Independence, MO, Helen Gillham of Parkville, MO, and Nancy Jenkins of Raymore, MO; numerous cousins, as well as many other relatives and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Pitts Chapel, with remarks from the family and the music of C.C.R.’s “Proud Mary”, and Vince Gill’s “Go Rest High On That Mountain” will be played.
