Obituary for James Robert Slagle

James Robert  Slagle
James “Robert” Slagle, age 80 of Walnut Grove, MO, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017, at Citizens Memorial Hospital Bolivar, MO. He was born August 5, 1936, at Slagle, MO, to Creed and Rachael Lee (Mitchell) Slagle. He is a US Air Force veteran. Robert was united in marriage to Bonnie Jo Stafford September 14, 1957, and to this union three children were born. He is a member of the Eudora Baptist Church, the Pleasant Hope Masonic Lodge #467, and the United Rubber Workers Union Local #667.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a grandson Christopher J. Slagle, Jr.; three brothers: Austin, Benny, and infant Charles Slagle; and two sisters: Willa Slagle, and Helen Bailey.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Bonnie of the home; three children: Christopher Slagle and wife Tracy of Bolivar, MO, Jeff Slagle of Walnut Grove, MO, and Kimberly McKenzie and husband Kevin of Greenfield, MO; eight grandchildren: Carol, Holli and husband Ryan, Lyndsey, Jonathan, Turner, Jayme, Austin, and Kayla; six great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Eudora Baptist Church with Pastors John Shuler and Jim White officiating. Burial will follow at Slagle Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Slagle, Jeff Slagle, Kevin McKenzie, Turner Slagle, Jonathan Slagle, and Austin Slagle. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 25, 2017, in the funeral home.
