Obituary for Linda Lou Collins (Malady)
Linda Lou (Malady) Collins, 78 of Strafford, Missouri left this Earth peacefully, surrounded by her family Sunday June 16, 2017.
Linda was born October 22, 1938 in Springfield, Missouri to Vernon Malady and Josephine (Mack) Malady.
On April 6, 1955 she married Buddy Collins, her best friend whom she met at the Doling Park Skate Rink in Springfield. They were two kids, in love, when they started a family of their own and grew up together.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Cleota, Gee, Lucille and one brother Ralph. One great Grandson Daniel.
Linda is survived by her loving, caring husband Buddy. Son, Bruce Lee and wife Brenda; daughter, Charlotte Jo Cline and husband Richard.; daughter Mary McCatherine and husband John; daughter, Sara Beth Cantrell; daughter, Amy Joyce Buckner; son, Steven John Collins and wife Rhonda; daughter, Janet Collins and wife Kristie King.
13 Grandchildren; Mike, April and Greg Collins; Andy, Amanda and Alex McCatherine; Vanessa Crawford, Bridget and Gabe Cantrell; Bethany Buckner; Jaryd Collins; Justin and Josephine Boice. Nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Linda spent most of her life as a homemaker, loving her husband, and raising their children. She was the best cook and loved to crochet. She made blankets for all her grandchildren and others. She enjoyed genealogy and loved cats, and her cat, Baby, will sure miss her as we all will.
A visitation to be held Thursday July 20, 2017 at Greenlawn North Funeral home between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Service to be held at 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn North Funeral home
Burial to follow at Mt. Comfort Church Cemetery.
