Obituary for George A. Carden Jr.

George A.  Carden Jr.
Rev. George A. Carden Jr. age 93 , of Springfield passed away Friday, July 14th, 2017 in his home .

George was born July 16, 1923 in Cave Springs to George and Helene Carden, Sr. He was a graduate of Willard High School and received his Masters Degree from Missouri State University. He was an ordained Methodist minister and retired as a chaplain for Cox North Medical Center. George served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Karen Fennell on August 5, 1973 in Cassville, MO. George loved to build things with his hands, read, garden, and spend time at Stockton Lake on his sailboat . His greatest love was his family.

Survivors include his loving wife, Karen; five children, Kathy Eldridge, Gary Carden, Robin Gobetz, Paula Fennell, and Karla Shaltout; seven grandchildren, Justin, Michael, Lynsey, Kelsey, Will, Gabrielle, and Marina; three great grandchildren; sister,Bettie Wise ; and a host of family and friends.
