Obituary for Larry Shane Lakey

Larry Shane Lakey of Dadeville, Missouri returned home to Jesus on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was 44 years old.
Shane is survived by his wife, Sherry, and sons, Shane Allen Lakey of Walnut Grove, Mo, Jacob Hutchison, and Taylor Hutchison of Dadeville; and a daughter with spouse Nicole and Dustin Wheeler of California. He is also survived by his parents, Larry and Shirley Lakey of Aldridge, Missouri, two brothers with spouses, Larry and Lynette Lakey of Aldridge, Mo; Loy and Helen Lakey of Kansas City, Mo; three sisters with spouses Candice Lakey of New Albany, Indiana, Leota and Kenny Carlisle of Marshfield, Mo, and Laura and Gary Gott of Kansas City, Mo; as well as 9 beautiful grandchildren: Savannah, Wyatt, Colton, Bryson, Matthew, Emma, Logan, Dusty and Jackson. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Elias and Grace Lakey, and Ferdie and Alene Parnell.
Shane was born on October 13, 1972 in Springfield, Missouri to Larry and Shirley Lakey. Shane attended and graduated from Parkview High School in 1991. He had a love for racing and driving his truck. He loved being outdoors, fishing, camping and just enjoying life. The last few years of his life was devoted to spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Shane passed away in his home despite a valiant battle against cancer. He leaves behind a large family and a host of friends, all of whom will miss him deeply. His family offers their most sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love, condolences and words of comfort during this very tender time.
