Obituary for Dorothy Helen Gitthens (Robertson)
Dorothy Helen Gitthens 84, Springfield, Mo. passed away Friday, July 7, 2017, after a long illness. She was born inn Wishart, Mo. on June 29, 1933, to Charley and Mattie (Termin) Robertson. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Assembly of God Church. She greatly enjoyed working in her church. she was very active with the women's auxiliary at Evangel College and at Maranatha. She also put in many hours at the church, with the children's and missions programs.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and by two sisters; Betty Wilson and Vaughndena Gallaway. Survivors include her husband, Vernon, three sons: Billy Gitthens, and his wife Mary, Gary Gitthens and his wife Cindy, and Christopher Gitthens, a brother: Charles E. Robertson, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, July 10, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the World Missions Fund at Central Assembly of God Church.
