Obituary for Walter Junior Owrey
Walter Junior Owrey age 86. of Springfield passed away Thursday, July 6th, 2017 at Cox Medical Center South .
Junior was born October 6, 1930 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Walter N. and Beulah F. Owrey. Junior retired from the United States Army as a SSG, after his military service, he worked for the Greene County Road and Bridge, retiring in November of 1995. He was united in marriage to Jackie Densmore on September 29, 1958 in Springfield, MO. Junior loved fishing, and boating, his greatest love was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Jackie M. Owrey; four children, Karen Phillips and husband Jim, Harrison, AR, Linda Handley and husband Jesse, Hermitage, MO, William Owrey and wife Savonna, Battlefield, MO, and David Owrey and wife Risa, Springfield; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Angela,and James Phillips, Darron , Ryan, and Brittney Owrey, Martin and Madison Owrey; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Owrey and Larry Owrey; two sisters, Laura Lee Cone and Betty Ann Miller; and a host of family and friends..
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm, Sunday, July, 9, 2017 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 10th, 2017 at 11:00 am in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens 3506 North National Springfield, Missouri 65803. Funeral services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North
