Obituary for Addison Neeley

Addison Neeley
A.E. (Big Ed) Neeley, 87-years-old, went on to be with the Lord on Monday, April 10, 2017, at his home in Hollister, Missouri.
A.E. was born on December 9, 1929 in Flora, Illinois to Melvin and Lucille Cox Neeley. The oldest of two children, his brother – Melvin Neeley – lives in Flora, Illinois.
A.E. was full of life and enjoyed his time with family and especially his wife, Joann. Joann was the love of his life and, even after her loss a few years ago, he still was in love with her and enjoyed sharing memories about their life together. Throughout his life, he maintained many friends and loved to play scratchers lottery tickets and watch the Cubbies play on TV. At an early age, he joined the Army Air Core and was stationed in various places around the world. After being discharged from the service, he became a carpenter by trade and was a member of Carpenter’s Local 44 in Champaign, Illinois and retired from carpentry and moved to Hollister, Missouri in 1976. Some of that time was spent traveling building White Water Parks around the United States. After his retirement from the union, he started Big Ed’s Guide Service fishing on Lake Taneycomo doing what he loved.
With his wife, Joann Neeley, they raised their 4 children, Bob, Ed, Connie (deceased) and Sheila and had 4 children from his previous marriage Steve, Melvin, David and Mary (deceased). Over the years, Addison and Joann lived in Champaign, Illinois, Texas and finally settled in Hollister, Missouri.
His surviving family members are numerous, but mainly include:
Father of 8 Children & Spouses: Bob and Rhonda Neeley (Illinois), Ed and Linda Neeley (Illinois), and Sheila and Chuck Dockery (Missouri), Steve & Billy Jean (California), Melvin & Deborah (California), and David & Jeannie (California).
He was also grandfather to 25 and great-grandfather to 25.
Other family members: Too many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, to list or even count.
Predeceased family: Joann Neeley (wife), Connie Neeley Clark (daughter) and Mary Neeley (daughter).
Everyone is invited to memorial service with a group of family and friends will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Greenlawn Funeral Home, Branson, Missouri. There will also be a burial service with military honors at 2 pm at the Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
