Obituary for Gladys Lucille O'Dell (Clutter)

Gladys Lucille O’Dell, was born June 3, 1927 in Willard Missouri. Daughter of Francis Lewis Clutter and Laura Lee (Haun) Clutter. United in marriage to John “Carson” O’Dell in Springfield, Missouri on October 6, 1951. To this union, two sons were born, John Lewis O’Dell, Fair Grove, Missouri and David Guston O’Dell, Tina, Missouri. They resided on the O’Dell family farm, northwest of Fair Grove, Missouri. Gladys was the Valedictorian of Republic School in 1945. She was bookkeeper of Fair Grove MFA Exchange in the 1960’s and early 1970’s. In later years she worked on the farm with Carson. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Fair Grove. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Carson O’Dell, two sisters; Marjorie Wallis and Dorothea Barker, and daughter in law Donna O’Dell. Survived by her two sons, John O’Dell (Nancy) Fair Grove, Missouri and David O’Dell of Tina, Missouri. Five grandchildren; Guston O’Dell of Fair Grove, Missouri, Danny O’Dell (Sara) of Chillicothee, Missouri, Denise Carr (Billy) of Bogard, Missouri, Joannie Dukes (Steven) of Billings, Missouri, Doug O’Dell (Katie) of Meadville, Missouri, 7 great-grandchildren; Ely Dukes, Dillon O’Dell, Colton Carr, Auston Carr, Ema Dukes, Luke O’Dell, Carsyn Jo O’Dell, and a niece, Janet Adams (Dick) of Willard Missouri. Visitation will be Thursday, November 17, 2016, 5:00-7:00pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral service will be Friday, November 18, 2016, 1:00pm, also at Greenlawn North. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions may be given to the United Methodist Church of Fair Grove, Missouri.
